Island fun!

For the first leg of our summer vacation (first and last for 2008), we stopped in Hilton Head, SC to visit with Rich's parents! We were so happy to see them -- it's been over a month since our paths crossed -- and the first time they've seen Mae since she started walking!
When we arrived (early Saturday morning), they surprised Mae with this adorable walking lion that roared when she pushed it and played music when she pressed his nose. She had a great time dancing with her Opi every time she made it sing!

It was such a beautiful day, we also took in the beach where Rich and Mae got a surprise opportunity to watch a large school of sting rays swim up the coast -- and right by their legs as they were hanging out in the ocean. Kirsten, however, freaked out and ran screaming from the water like a little girl -- much to the amusement of bystanders. We also attempted to build a sand castle with the girl. Of course, at this age, all Mae wants to do is smash whatever you build up -- but fun for all.
