We just arrived home from our fabulous trip, but had one more thing to do before we settled into our home-routine -- CURLING! Our curling club was hosting a one-day teaching camp for the Governor Morehead School for the Blind. Unable to balance on the ice, Kirsten and Mae tagged along while Rich helped with the instruction. This was the second year Triangle -- and Rich -- participated in this camp, and it was again a wonderful and amazing experience! What a great bunch of students and teachers! And the club members who participated were also great (but who from the club isn't?)!
While we were there, Rich and some of the club members took Mae on the ice. Last year, she came out in her stroller but this was the first time she was walking on her own. We understand it's like a curling rite of passage to let toddlers ride ontop of the curling stone (which is about 42 lbs. alone). Although she looks a little apprehensive, trust us that she loved it. She'll be throwing stones on the ice in no time... well, as soon as she weighs at least twice as much as a stone!
